Grand National Trainers
Each trainer has their own regime of training Grand National runners but if they haven’t got the ammunition or form they run some entrants for the owners just to have a runner.
In most cases it is said that the trainer is worth his weight in gold, but not in the case of the Grand National because of the imponderables in this unique race such as interference by loose horses or horses that fall at a certain grand national fence and bring other horses down or jockeys being obscured by another runner and eventually refusing to jump the fence in question.
Any trainer can train the winner of the Grand National as seen in past years results. Just because the trainer has a "Premier League" name this doesn’t mean he has the winner in his stable and furthermore the odds of that horse is shorter because of their name and status
